Gravity+2 is husband and wife duo Bill and Ruth DeSmidt, of Castro Valley, CA They've been playing originals and covers (Beatles, Cat Stevens, James Taylor, and even Green Day and others!) throughout the Bay Area since 2004. They started out as "The Wandering Minstrels," playing for kids R.E. classes at Starr King Church in Hayward, and then became "Gravity+2." In December 2010, they were interviewed by Castro Valley Patch. On 9/22/11 Snappy Cafe put "Gravity+2" for the first time on YouTube, can you believe that! Bill sings, writes some of the originals, and plays guitar. Ruth plays percussion (rain stick, tambourine, bodhran, shakers, doumbek, acoustic drum), writes some of the originals and sings as well. Their venues include Starr King Church in Hayward, Cafe Sorriso in San Leandro, the Bistro in Hayward, Panama Red in Concord and Livermore. They have also played in front of Hayward City Hall and at the Hayward Plunge Ampitheatre. May 10th 2012, Saturday We'll do May Day & Mother's Day songs & sing-a-longs!
